Folks who prefer sitting in Seiza, (knees bent, tops of feet on lower cushion) tend to adjust the perch a little higher.

Shifting to Cross-legged may feel more comfortable with the Perch at it's lower settings.

Step 2. Adjust the gas cylinder to fit your wrist height to your desk top, keyboard or other work surface.

Step 2. Adjust the gas cylinder to fit your wrist height to your desk top, keyboard or other work surface.

By adjusting the gas cylinder, the lower cushion and Perch move up and down as a unit. Once you've experimented with different heights of the perch, you can now adjust the two cushions as a unit so that your wrists are comfortably wresting at your work with little to no angle at the wrists. You might also like to have someone check to see that your elbows are just above you work with arms and shoulders relaxed. You'll find that adjusting the perch will require re-adjusting the gas cylinder to reset the best position for wrist and elbows.

Step 3. Keep moving. Choose a new posture or even take a walk every half hour.

In order to end the work day as healthy as you arrived, the best posture is your next posture. Keep changing things up throughout the day. Not only will your back, joints and neck feel better, but your focus, productivity and mood will also be at their best.
